We have had a number of claims reported via us recently where our clients have needed the benefit of their legal expenses policy however because they have not contacted insurers initially for advice the claims have been turned down. We must stress that the advice line must be contacted as soon as you identify an issue.
Client received court papers March 2016 which stated that the venue owed an ex employee £20,000 for a loan provided by him. Insurance Company A was instructed to deal. However when Insurance Company A were provided with full details of claim and documents from client it transpired that the client was aware of the issue and received correspondence on the matter dating back to June/July 2015 of which was clear that proceedings would be issued if no action taken.
Insurance Company A have declined to deal as Venue A was aware of the issue prior to the cover with Insurance Company A .
