Our new Managing Director celebrates NDML’s partnership with NTIA

New Managing Director Greg Markham takes the reigns

Greg Markham joined NDML nightlife insurance brokers in May 2026, taking over as the Managing Director. With the previous leadership team of Justin Romero-Trigo, Victoria Romero-Trigo and Simon Mabb departing, Jon Webb, new Regional Managing Director for Romero Insurance Brokers, needed an experienced handed to take over the reigns at Club Insure NDML. Due to his vast amount of experience at both independents and commercial brokers, and having worked under Jon previously, Greg Markham was perfectly suited.

Coming into the role, Greg has immediately made it clear there are areas of the business which require little to no alterations. He says he was struck by the camaraderie and hugely positive vibe within the office. He made positive note of staff motivation levels and the experience present in each department. Greg’s focus will instead be centred around improving our marketing, prospect delivery, smoothness of operations and generative AI optimisation.

Upon joining the business, Greg said he was impressed by the partnerships NDML has built and nurtured over the past 25 years, including their deep relationship with the NTIA.

The NTIA is the primary organisation which advocates for the nightlife industry. They have always been first to address the key issues affecting venues, increasing profile in order to influence government policy. The NTIA have helped improve licensing regulation and promote grassroots talent, sharing in NDML’s mission of protecting nightlife businesses. Greg understands the value of this longstanding relationship.

NDML’s Managing Director, Greg Markham says:

At NDML, our connection to the nightlife industry runs far deeper than simply arranging insurance. For more than 20 years, we have stood alongside bars, clubs, late-night venues and entertainment businesses, supporting a sector that plays a vital role in the UK’s social, cultural and economic landscape.

We understand the unique challenges that nightlife operators face because this is a sector we have specialised in for decades. From complex risk management requirements to securing the right protection in an evolving insurance market, our expertise has been built through years of working exclusively with businesses operating at the heart of the night-time economy.

Our passion for this industry is driven by the people behind it – the entrepreneurs, operators and teams who create vibrant, safe and successful venues across the country. As specialists, we do not just provide insurance; we provide guidance, insight and long-term support, helping our clients navigate risks, protect their businesses and thrive in an increasingly challenging environment.

We remain as committed to the sector today as we were when we first entered it over two decades ago. Through specialist knowledge, strong insurer relationships and a genuine understanding of the hospitality and nightlife landscape, we continue to champion and protect the venues that bring communities together and keep Britain’s nightlife thriving.

NDML’s new Managing Director reflects on our key partnership with the NTIA

NDML and NTIA have held an official partnership for 8 years, since 2018. Together the NDML and the NTIA have tackled issues involving the pandemic – the darkest period for the industry anyone has known – as well as business interruption policies, employment rights, and rising leisure insurance premiums.

The NDML have attended many NTIA led events, including the annual NTIA Summits and the NTIA Ambassador of the Night Awards. We have supported their Leave No One Behind campaign, Listen For Life, and joint published the NTIA manifesto Darkest Before The Dawn which was presented to Downing Street in 2023.

Greg understands the importance of NDML’s relationship with the NTIA, and the benefit we provide their organisation, and therefore their readers and supporters. Greg is keen to continue our longstanding relationship, and explore new avenues in how we can assist the NTIA to better develop our offering, and benefit the sector as a whole.

The #WeAreNightlife campaign is a project led by NDML and supported by the NTIA. The campaign began in 2020, discussing the financial consequences of the pandemic on the sector – it has since continued into 2026, recording nightlife operator’s opinions of changing consumer attitudes and financial pressures.

#WeAreNightlife is an award winning campaign that showcases businesses who have strived through adversity and remain excellent examples for the nightlife industry to rally behind.

Michael Kill, NTIA CEO, said: “It’s great to be working alongside NDML, and venues across the country to make this project happen. We’re so grateful for his enthusiasm for the project to showcase just what an amazing impact this campaign can make across the UK. I’m really excited to see what amazing pieces of community art develop over the coming weeks and months, to give us an insight into the unique local heritage of so many amazing nightlife cities.”
