NDML reveals the results of its wellbeing report

The NDML team scored us 7.72 out of 10 for our health and wellbeing focus, a 6.3% increase on last year, according to our latest wellbeing report.

Employees found our wellbeing programme particularly inspiring, with the vast majority of our team taking part in our wellbeing initiatives in the last twelve months. We’ve increased engagement by 14% when compared to 2018, showing these wellbeing initiatives are fast becoming part of our workplace culture.

Through our partnership with hero Wellbeing we offer seminars and on-site activities, annual health checks and a wellbeing app containing plenty of online resources. We also provide staff with free counselling sessions, Pilates and mindfulness classes and several events organised by our very own wellbeing team.

As a result of our wellbeing focus, 89% of employees would recommend working at NDML.

Wellbeing and the night-time industry

We know the hospitality industry struggles to recruit and retain talent – 93% of survey respondents found recruiting suitable staff difficult. The long and sporadic shifts, plus unsociable hours, makes working in the night-time sector particularly stressful. Many recent reports have shown mental health is becoming a problem in the industry. Partly this is down to a lack of education and innovation in the sector, with management not offered training to help staff identify and manage points of stress.

Our wellbeing report results show the real impact prioritising wellbeing can have for your staff, and your customers. It’s proven that a positive, healthy member of staff is more likely to feel good about their work and therefore more likely to do their best and work more productively.

Basic steps such as encouraging employees to speak regularly to their manager, or offering access to counselling if needed, can be a huge relief and support to your staff.

Here at NDML we can talk the talk because we walk the walk, and have the stats to show the real life impact of positive wellbeing. To keep up to date with the team, follow us on social media and feel free to contact us!
